Our School
The John Moore Primary was built five years ago on the new 'Wheatpieces' housing estate in Walton Cardiff, just outside Tewkesbury.
We opened the school to our first intake of approximately 30 children in September 2000.
We now have 180 pupils and seven classes.
Class R: Foundation Stage
Class One: Year One
Class Two: Year Two
Class Three: Year Three
Class Four: Year Four
Class Five: Year Five
Class Six: Year Six
We have seven full-time teaching staff, three part-time teaching staff and six teaching assistants.
Our senior management team .... Headteacher - Miss King, Deputy Headteacher - Mr Green and Key Stage One Coordinator - Mrs Hodgson.
The school has recently been extended. Our facilities now include seven permanent class rooms, ICT suite, Library, Woodland Work room, extended hall and a purpose built Early Years facility which houses our community playgroup. We also have extensive outdoor areas, which include Infant and Junior playgrounds, a large school field, enclosed Early Years play areas and a wild life area.
In the future we plan to develop our school grounds by incorporating a garden and orchard. The School Council are currently redesigning the use of the outdoor playareas.
